How Does Online Real Estate Education Work?
Each state has different requirements for certification and online education accommodates these differences. You can study at your own pace and on your own time without the hassle of a commute and a structured class schedule. By taking the course online, you don’t need to worry about commuting or waiting for the rest of the class to catch up—you can work at your own pace, on your own time, when the time is right for you. Also, studies have proven that there is no significant difference between the learning outcome of studying from an online course and the amount of knowledge acquired in a traditional classroom. If you need to be finished with the course at a quick pace due to approaching state deadlines, then online education may be the answer for you.
Online Real Estate CE
Agents usually take online real estate CE (continuing education) courses when they have a deadline before which they must obtain a certain number of credits. In cases like this a CD-ROM or an online course is a quick and easy solution to obtaining your continuing education credits rather than attending a traditional real estate school.
Real Estate CE Requirements
Continuing education (CE) requirements vary from state-to-state. Some states may even have different CE requirements for your first renewal and subsequent renewals. Frequently the number of hours that you are required to take will be made up by taking different real estate courses. If you’re taking a real estate class with an online real estate school you need to make sure that the course is approved for real estate CE. Examples of approved real estate classes would include Agency, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing. Many of these real estate classes may count towards 3 hours of real estate CE credit each. Should you have to secure considerably more hours you may want to select a more extensive CE real estate courses such as:
Principles of Real Estate
This online real estate CE course meets the 60-hour Principles of Real Estate core course requirement. The real estate class covers property ownership, property transfer, real estate licensing, finance, math, fair housing, and other required topics.
Law of Agency
This online real estate CE course meets the 30-hour Law of Agency core course requirement in Texas. This real estate class covers an overview of agency concepts, agreements with buyers and sellers, fiduciary duties, intermediaries, agency termination, employment issues and other required topics.
Law of Contracts
This online real estate CE course meets the 30-hour Law of Contracts core course requirement in Texas. This real estate class covers contract law and reviews in detail how to create a contract, contract forms, breaches, provisions and other required topics.
